Family policies
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
Stay home with a fever or a cough and tell your coach. A lesson you miss is moved to another time in the month, and your band keeps your place.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for Thanksgiving week and when the weather closes the roads. We email every family when that happens.
Drop-off and pickup
Students under eighteen leave with an adult named on their file, unless the file says a teen may leave on their own. Parents may wait in the lobby, which has seats and a window into the hall.
Late pickup
Please collect your teen within fifteen minutes of the end of rehearsal. A coach stays until every student has left, and a call to the desk helps us plan.
Watching class and recitals
Parents and guests are welcome at shows and open stage nights. A parent can sit in on a first class, and during the term the lesson room doors have windows or stay open. At a show, phones go down while a band plays.
Screens and phones
Phones stay in a pocket or the cubby during rehearsal, except for a tuner, a metronome or a chart your coach asks for.
What to wear and bring
Wear what you would play in, with closed shoes for pedals and amps. For a show, wear what you like; there is no uniform.
