The band path
Every band rehearses each week with a coach. You move up when your band is ready, not on a clock.
Hold a steady beat together in one room
Count in, start together and stop together
Set up your own amp, microphone and stand
Play one song you know from start to finish
Your coach moves you up when the band can play a few songs from start to finish. Every player moves at their own pace.
Play three songs from start to finish
Listen for the drummer and the bass player
Take a short solo or a vocal line, if you want one
Fix one thing at a time with your coach
Your coach and your band talk it over once the songs hold together. Every band moves at its own pace.
Choose and order the songs for a set
Handle the gaps between songs
Run your own sound check
Play a set for family and friends at a show
After a show, your band and your coach decide what comes next. Every band moves at its own pace.
Bring a riff or a line to rehearsal
Shape a song with your bandmates
Record a rehearsal to listen back
Play your own song at a show

Questions
Bands are for ages 12 to 17. Younger players can ask us about lessons.
No. Plug-in bands are for players who have never been in one. Come on your own or bring friends, and a coach listens to you play for a few minutes at a class to try.
Bring your own guitar or bass if you have one, and ask your teacher before you buy or rent. Every rehearsal room has amps, a drum kit and microphones set up.
Yes, when there is room at your level. Come to a class to try together and your coach will hear the whole band.
Shows are where a term ends, and most players want one. If you would rather not, tell your coach and talk it over.
Parents are welcome at shows and open rehearsal nights, and a parent can sit in on a first class. The lesson room doors have windows or stay open.
Come in
Sit in on a rehearsal for your age group, or play a few songs with a coach. Nobody is graded.
